Best Practice Marketing - a 1-day course for staff at all levels involved
in marketing, recruitment and admissions activity to help you develop

New Staff Induction - a 3 hour induction for any new member of University staff to gain information on central services and a brief overview of the structure of the University and who to speak to get more information on specific areas of interest to you. Also to allow an opportunity for you to meet some service providers and other new staff: Monday 1 September 2003, 12.00 - 15.00.
Introduction To Management - a 2 day course ideally for staff who are new to managing or who have been a manager for between 0 and 2 years. The aim is to help you identify the skills you need to become more effective as a manager and to provide you with information from key service areas in the University: Tues 8 and Wed 9 September 2003, 09.15 - 16.30.
Orientation For New Academics - a 2-day course providing an orientation to the University and its policy and practices primarily aimed at all newly appointed academic staff. The course covers university strategy and practice on learning and teaching, research, widening participation and other aspects of academic work: Mon 15 and Tues 16 September 2003, 09.00 - 16.30.
Managing Sickness Absence - a ½ day session which provides a chance for managers to understand the importance of managing sickness absence cases, and their own responsibilities for doing this in a consistent and fair way: Wednesday 24 September 2003, 09.15 - 12.30.
