Languages for All
Are you thinking of learning a language?
Our Languages for All programme offers tuition at various levels in French,
German, Spanish, Russian and Arabic, plus free use of our language resources
centre. In addition to previous provision, we are hoping to offer a higher
level of French this year (F7 and F8), and possibly a second level of
German.
Classes start in week commencing 25 September.

Collection of stamps for charity
Further to last week's notice, Colin Wright in Pharmacy is inviting colleagues
to send in their used stamps to him, via internal mail, for the Emmanuel
Hospital Association. The EMA runs hospitals and community health programmes
serving the poor in India. The UK office of EHA has a "stamp bureau"
run by volunteers to raise funds for the work.

Lynn McVey, Director of Administration, School of Management
As some of you may be aware Lynn McVey will be leaving on Friday 1st
September 2006. Although she has worked at the School of Management for
the last four years as Director of Administration, she has made many friends
and colleagues across of the whole of the University during the past 15
years. For those of you who wish to say goodbye to Lynn there will be
an opportunity on Friday 1st September at 12.00 - 2.00pm at Heaton Mount.
For colleagues situated at main campus there is a card available for signing
with Andrea Wilson, Room E68 Richmond Building.

Messages from Bradford Council
Gully cleaning - this week
Gully cleaning will take place this week at the following places around
the University campus. Staff and students are asked not to park their
car in these streets between on these days or be prepared to move it when
asked.

- Grove Terrace
- Mannville Terrace
- Claremount
Wednesday August 16
Thursday August 17
- Merton Road
- Sherbourne Road
- Laisteridge Lane
Bradford City Centre wardens will be out on the streets asking residents
to move parked cars. A mechanical sweeper will be cleaning channels at
the side of the road once the streets are free of cars.
