Vice Chancellor's Annual Address and the Meeting of the Assembly
Wednesday 28 November 2001, The Great Hall, Richmond Building, 1pm - 2pm

The Vice Chancellor will address the Assembly at its meeting of 28 November, to which all members of University staff are invited. Questions may be submitted by members of staff for answering at the meeting, to be sent via the Standing Committee of the Assembly, before 7 November 2001 for inclusion in the Agenda. Questions may however be submitted up to 20 November 2001 and a list of these questions will be tabled.

Report from the Standing Committee of the Assembly. Document ASS 1/01-02

1. Meetings of the Assembly

Recommended to the Assembly (SCA 8/00-01, M.9.1):

1.1 that there be two meetings of the Assembly each academic year and that these be recorded on the University Year Planner.

1.2 that the Standing Committee of Assembly advise the Vice-Chancellor on items for the agenda of the meeting.

2. Terms of Reference of the Standing Committee of the Assembly

Recommended to the Assembly (SCA 8/00-01, M.12) that the Regulations regarding the Standing Committee of the Assembly 2 ii) and 2 iii) be amended to allow for the membership to include:

Six members elected from the Assembly;
The elected Planning Unit Assembly Chairs, for as long as their term of office as elected chairs shall run (ex-officio);
Those members of the Senate elected by the Assembly under Statute 19II(C) for as long as their membership of the Senate, as a result of such election shall run.

Excellence Plus Learning Support Seminar Series

Please note:

  • Supporting part-time students - course postponed and will run next semester
  • The National Qualification's Framework and other developments of the QAAHE Framework for Quality Assurance - formerly running on 12 November 2001 has been merged with the QAAHEs new method for Academic Review and will run on 26 November 2001
