University news

Thank you from the Vice-Chancellor

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank all the staff who have helped ensure that the University could continue to operate during the recent bad weather. There have been many examples of staff enduring long journeys in order to make it in to work, whilst our Estates staff deserve praise for their hard work to keep the campus safe and passable. This has been particularly important for our students during their examination period which has been able to continue thanks to your efforts.

Best Wishes,

Mark

National Student Survey launched

This year's National Student Survey is now live at www.thestudentsurvey.com and all home or EU undergraduates in their final year should have received an e-mail inviting them to complete some 22 questions about their course and University experience. This year we are aiming for a 70% response rate across the University (up from 67% in 2008/9) and your support in achieving this through encouraging eligible students to complete the survey is greatly appreciated.

To encourage students to share their opinions in the survey, two prizes of £250 for an on campus party are up for grabs. These will be awarded to the courses with the highest and most improved survey response rates.
