There are many ways of paying for bus and train travel, but if you commute regularly a cheaper and more convenient season ticket from Metro is worth considering.
The University has teamed up with Metro to offer a 15% discount off the normal cost of an annual MetroCard for our staff.
The University is able to offer this discount as Metro have recognised our efforts to promote sustainable travel choices and our commitment to implementing a travel plan.
The University purchases annual MetroCards on a bulk basis and recovers the cost from participants by equal deductions from their salary spread over the year.
There are now three application rounds per year and staff joining the scheme in February and May pay a pro rata fee for the MetroCard up to the 30th of September.
