General University notices

New. Volunteers needed for the October Open Day

Are you free on Saturday 7th October and would like to help promote the University to prospective students? If the answer is YES then we'd like to hear from you as we need volunteers to help out at the October Open Day.

We need help on the Registration Desk which involves “meeting and greeting”, signing people in and giving out information packs about the day - it’s easy and great fun! The University will be open from 9.30am until 3.30pm but if you can only work for part of the day we'd still like to hear from you.

For more information please contact Liz Hough (Marketing Officer, Campaigns) on ext 3034 or e.hough1@bradford.ac.uk.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

New. Radio interviews - the World Service at your feet!

This is a quick reminder that staff are able to do interviews with radio stations and broadcasters in quality audio (i.e. how it would sound if you were actually in the studio) using the University’s ISDN line.

The line is housed in the Press Office, Room D15, Richmond Building. To book time on the ISDN line, contact Oliver or Emma in the Press Office on extensions 3084 or 3089.

Recently, staff from the University of Bradford have linked up with stations ranging from the BBC World Service to Bradford Community radio. It’s a great way of sharing expertise and information with the wider world and it sounds much better than a crackly phone line!

New. Theatre in the Mill - get involved!

24 Hour Show 2006 - no time to sleep!

A show produced within 24 hours? Are you crazy?

The answer to that is basically YES! And that is why the BUTG 24 hour show is still running after so many years. The trouble is, we are running out of shows to perform - so will we be hotting it up with Grease? Or cooling it down with Chicago? You will just have to come along and see for yourself.

To get involved (acting, dancing, singing, costumes, tech, general dogsbodies) just turn up at the Theatre in the Mill on Friday 29th September at 7pm - bring sensible black clothing and be prepared for a long night!

The finished product will be presented in all its glory on Saturday 30th September at 7.30pm - tickets available from Theatre in the Mill on ext: 3200 or email: theatre@bradford.ac.uk

And then we will all go to bed . . .

More details from Theatre in the Mill - email: theatre@bradford.ac.uk

Why not Give it a Go!

On Wednesday 20th September Theatre in the Mill will be hosting two drama workshops by the University's own Theatre Group BUTG. BUTG is open to all (not just students) so if you fancy getting involved in all sorts of aspects of theatre from performing to backstage why not pop down to Theatre in the Mill on Wednesday between 11am and 1pm or 2pm to 4pm, otherwise join them at their welcome evening which will be held at theatre in the Mill on Monday 25th at 6.30pm.

All welcome. More details from theatre@bradford.ac.uk
