Looking after our internal and external customers

One of the main themes for the Staff Development programme for 2011-12, is Customer Focus: Enhancing the Student Experience and to complement this theme there are several training courses scheduled over the next few weeks. The one-day ‘Delivering an Excellent Customer Service’ seeks to give staff a good understanding of what it means to deliver good customer service and focuses on what they might do to improve their own performance in this area.

We also have a series of bitesize workshops designed to complement the one day course.   These bitesize sessions can be attended in any order and staff can elect to do one, two or more to suit their learning need. There are still places available on all these sessions some of which will be delivered by external trainers.

He went on to work with Dr Jean Olley in Pharmacology and went onto to become international ‘names’ in pharmacology. The names of Costall and Naylor could be found in literally hundreds of publications. More recently Robert was commissioned to write a book on ‘Medication Errors’ which was well received and gained an award for the European medical book of the year. He provided the Bradford School of Pharmacy a world-wide reputation for excellence in research.

Full details of Robert’s time at the University and career

Dr Liz Kelly
Dr Liz Kelly retired from the Bradford School of Pharmacy at the end of the last academic year. Liz gained her first degree here and joined the neuropharmacology research group headed by Professors Costall and Naylor. Liz became an expert in modelling behaviour and helped to develop new potential therapies to mange mental illness. Liz was also an accomplished teacher and this culminated in her receiving the Chancellor’s award for excellence in teaching. Liz’s interests in teaching practice extended nationally where she was involved in creating materials for the Pharma-CAL-ogy consortium.

Assisting Students to log in to Outlook Live (email)

Step 1: Check the student is using their correct Windows Live ID - this is their username plus @student.bradford.ac.uk, eg:
branybo6@student.bradford.ac.uk  (NOT b.r.anybody6@student.bradford.ac.uk).

Step 2: If the student still cannot login, ask them to change their password at a password kiosk in the Hub or near the printers in J B Priestley Library, or on the web (www.bradford.ac.uk/lss/it-services/password/index.php) and to WAIT ONE HOUR before trying to login again.

Passwords MUST:

- be between 8 and 16 characters long;
- contain a number, lowercase and uppercase letter in the first 8 characters.

Passwords MUST NOT contain:

- recognisable names or words;
- spaces or non-English characters.
- their username (e.g. jrbloggs@student.bradford.ac.uk CANNOT have the password jrbloggs, jrBLoggs or jrBloggsisAce);

Step 3: If this is still not successful, ask the student to try logging into Blackboard (http://blackboard.brad.ac.uk/) :

- If they CANNOT, they have not remembered their password correctly and will need to change it (following the criteria above).
- If they CAN, there is a problem with Microsoft accepting the password - the student will need to change it (following the criteria above).
