Due to the essential safety works to the top of the Richmond building chimney we need to provide a safety zone at the foot of the building for Health & Safety reasons. This safety zone shall be created with safety barriers / fencing which will narrow the width / access into the Carlton Street car park. This should not restrict access for normal vehicles such as cars etc.
A number of parking spaces may be lost and these will be managed by Security.
A Banksman with two way radio contact with operatives working on the roof shall control access for deliver vehicles where the safety barrier / fencing may temporarily require moving to provide access for such vehicles.
The car park adjacent to Ashfield will be closed permanently from Monday 26 September to allow contractors to erect the site perimeter fencing for the construction site of the new Sustainability and Enterprise Centre (SEC).
The exciting development is a four storey BREEAM Outstanding £5.2M building, centre funded by ERDF, HEFCE and the University to provide an iconic building and focal point for Sustainability Research and Knowledge Transfer at the University of Bradford - further details can be found on the Estates and Facilities website.
A presentation and project overview followed by a questions and answers session for staff by the Principle Contractor, GB Building Solutions will be held early October, details will be posted on Staff Briefing.
Once the hoarding is erected, site mobilisation will follow, including the erection of permanent site hoardings, site offices, welfare facilities and site strip ahead of the building works.
