'Business Elites and Corporate Governance in France and the UK' to be given by Professor Mairi Maclean, Bristol Business School on Wednesday 5 April 2006 at 1.00pm

Venue: Higgins Lecture Theatre (Airedale Building), School of Management, Emm Lane

Mairi Maclean is Professor of European Business at Bristol Business School. She was previously Reader in European Business at Royal Holloway, University of London. She is author of numerous articles in the fields of international business and political economy.

Her most recent book is a cross-national, comparative study of business elites and corporate governance in France and the UK, combining extensive empirical research with intensive theoretical reasoning. It looks beneath the surface at the exercise of power and authority in two distinct national business systems within the EU, exploring key issues concerning business elites, their networks, recruitment, reward, stability and regeneration.
