Make your Will for free

This is the first week of Will Aid’ Month, which takes place every November. Since 1988, Will Aid has worked with solicitors’ firms who donate the fees from Will writing to a range of charities.

The campaign aims to encourage people to take up the opportunity to write their Will while also helping good causes. Writing a valid Will is the only way you can be sure that your wishes are carried out and your loved ones provided for after your death.

Staff are entitled to take advantage of the University’s scheme to make a Will for free, offering a potential saving of up £80 and the opportunity to leave a gift while doing so.

Further information is available from our Development Team on 6844 or on our Legacy Giving page

National HE STEM at the University of Bradford

The National HE STEM Programme is an initiative funded by HEFCE. Although focused around Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (hence STEM), it primarily supports the disciplines of Chemistry, Engineering, Mathematics and Physics.

These subjects have been deemed strategically important and vulnerable. Programme activities take place across three related strands: Widening Participation, Curriculum Development and encouraging those within the workforce and society to engage with further study to develop enhanced knowledge and skills.

As the regional spoke for Yorkshire and the North East, the University of Bradford is engaged in partnerships with HE institutions in the region to develop innovative approaches to promoting the above activity. Week by week we will bring you details about individual projects. To find out more about STEM projects and activities here at Bradford and nationally please have a look at the HE STEM website:

Works on Campus

Disruption to water in Horton D on 8 November

Alteration works are required on the boosted cold water service within the above building which will involve isolating the building’s water supply.

The works will commence on Tuesday 8 November from around 6:30am and it is anticipated that the works will take approximately 1 hour.

Unfortunately this will cause disruption to both the hot and cold water supplies throughout the building for a short time and occupants who enter the building between these times are requested to use the toilet and kitchen facilities in adjacent buildings until the works are complete.

All services will be reinstated on completion.
