The Norcroft Centre is the University's main location for conferences, exhibitions and showcases.
The Norcroft Centre is a cost-effective and versatile environment for your events. These range from business breakfasts to formal dinners, in a relaxing and peaceful atmosphere enhanced by an art exhibition by David Wright. Its stylish design inspires the imagination.
Sustainability
The Norcroft Centre's environmentally-friendly features include:
- A sedum grass roof which provides a habitat for plants, insects and birds whilst helping to reduce the building's energy loss
- Technologies, including modern lighting and heating control systems, heat exchangers, energy-efficient lighting and low-carbon boilers all help to keep the building's energy consumption down
- The building's internal environment is controlled by a natural ventilation system and an enhanced, thermally-insulated shell
- Pollution from the construction and use of the Centre has been reduced by using refrigerant leak detection, by avoiding ozone-depleting substances in the choice of insulants, and by installing low nitrous oxide boilers
- Recycled and environmentally-friendly materials were used in several aspects of the building
