Project Activities
The proposed aims of this project are:
-
Develop mathematical methods to generalise the previous results for Biharmonic Bézier
surfaces. This will involve the use of generalized Biharmonic equations.
-
Extend the results of generalised Bihamonic Bézier to cubic B-splines so as new shape
generation techniques based on Bihamonic B-splines can be developed.
-
Study the smoothing properties of genealised Biharmonic B-splines so as appropriate
algorithms can be put forward for generating shapes with required smoothness under a given
set of conditions.
-
Apply Biharmonic splines to practical design situations in order to verify their applicability.
Results of this project to date are available through the academic
publication available in the
project

section.
There are a number of possible areas of exciting research which stem
from this work. Interested visiting scholars and potential postgraduate (MPhil
and PhD) students are welcome to contact
