Laura outside Salts Mill.
You can visit the old Salts Mill, which has now been converted into an impressive three-floor art gallery, housing a collection of David Hockney's best works.
It is a shame that the gallery is dominated by Hockney to the exclusion of other artists, but there are many excellent paintings, alongside some with less appeal.
The gallery also incorporates a shop that sells prints and books, and there is a very posh café.
Painting of Salts Mill.
Three galleries house the largest collection of Bradford born, David Hockney's work, in the world. Over 500,000 people visit the galleries each year. On the ground floor there is a permanent exhibition of more than 300 pieces of David Hockney's work. The second floor gallery houses changing exhibitions of his work, and also local 'snaps' of the area.
The third floor gallery in the mill also features more of David Hockney's work, including his operatic stage sets.
