Life Sciences New Structure

The School of Life Sciences is the largest School in the University with an annual turnover in the region of £27M.  We combine a strong focus on professionally-orientated teaching with world-class research and extensive knowledge-transfer activity , including consultancy, industrial collaborations, licensing of intellectual property and creation of spin-out companies.  Much of our work is subject to external accreditation and/or regulation and is conducted in close association with employers.  A key strategy of the school is to embed employability skills in the curriculum through a range of work focused learning activities.  We have strong and growing links with institutions overseas.

Teaching and learning activity is arranged around four Bradford Schools:

Almost all members of staff teach within one of the 4 'Bradford' Schools and are active in one or more of the specialist institutes and centres.  This arrangement ensures that the Student Experience is informed by all academic and commercial activities within the School.
