1) Internal Building Works - are substantially complete. Rectification of any minor defects is progressing.
2) Electrical Services - Physical work is complete and testing is substantially complete.
3) Mechanical Services - Physical work is complete to all areas with the exception of the plant room. Testing and commissioning is progressing as far as possible to the completed works and will be ongoing in tandem with the completion of the works in the plant room.
4) External Works - These have unfortunately been delayed by the recent wet weather, however these works are now progressing, albeit in difficult conditions.
University direct fitting out works
a) Delivery and placing of furniture - Has commenced and is ongoing.
b) Audio and Visual Installations (to the Teaching Areas) - Are due to commence on Monday 7th December.
c) Removals - have been scheduled and all relevant departments consulted.
All future updates regarding the new build/departmental moves will be communicated by e mail to staff and students.
The new build project is ongoing and there are contractors in most of the areas, for your safety, please take care at all times.
The present School of Management Library (in the Yvette Jacobson building on the Emm Lane Campus) will close on Friday 18th December 2009 at 5:30 pm. The Law Library, at present in the J.B. Priestley Library (on the main University campus) will also close at this time.
You will NOT be able to access or borrow any printed materials (e.g. books, journals, newspapers) from either the Management Library or the Law Library until Monday 11th January 2010 because all the stock will be moving into the new Management & Law Library which will be situated in the Emm Lane Building.
You will, of course, continue to have full access to all the online resources for Management & Law.
Please ensure, either on or before Friday 18th December 2009, that you have visited the present Management Library, and the present Law Library, and have had any books that you require issued to you AS YOU WILL NOT HAVE ACCESS TO THESE LIBRARY RESOURCES AGAIN UNTIL MONDAY 11TH JANUARY 2010.

When moving into a major redevelopment, it is inevitable that there will be
some teething problems. From the 4th January 2010 an 'organization' will be
available on blackboard called 'New Build Feedback'. The aim of this page is
to get some instant feedback should any problems arise. This page can be used
by everyone who has a login. We will also welcome general feedback on the building
project.
This system will not replace the present one, of reporting the normal daily
maintenance issues (to Steph)
