ESD@Bradford Seminar Series 2010

Our 2010 Seminar Series sees five key leaders in the sustainability sector visiting the University of Bradford to deliver an interesting and interactive set of seminars aimed at our staff, students and interested external parties. All are free to attend but booking is essential. Refreshments will be provided unless otherwise specified.

Seminar 1

15 May - ESD@Bradford Seminar: Speaker - John Elkington.
Title: The Phoenix Economy - Key Drivers Towards Addressing The Most Pressing Global Challenges.
Time: 1:30pm - 3:00pm
Location: Cartwright Lecture Theatre, School of Management.

We are delighted to be able to advise you that John Elkington will be the key note speaker on Saturday 15th May 2010. John is a world authority on corporate responsibility and sustainable development. In 2004, BusinessWeek described him as "a dean of the corporate responsibility movement for three decades." In 2008, The Evening Standard named John among the '1000 Most Influential People' in London, describing him as "a true green business guru," and as "an evangelist for corporate social and environmental responsibility long before it was fashionable."

Title: The Demise of Unilateral Corporate Responsibility and its Implications for Leaders.
Time: 2:00pm - 3:30pm.
Location: 2nd Floor Conference Room, IPI Building, University of Bradford.

Paul McNeillis, Director of Corporate Resonsibility at Achilles Group Ltd will be with us to deliver this seminar which will be of particular interest Managers already working in the field and those with an interest in this area of company and institutional management.

Jamie and Stan are based at Bradford Council and this seminar is of interest to staff at the University and Council, Students, the public and representatives from Third Sector and charity groups.

23 June - ESD@Bradford Seminar: Speaker - Tim O'Riordan.
Title: Setting the Case for Sustainability as Regeneration.
Time: 2:00pm - 3:30pm.
Location: 2nd Floor Conference Room, IPI Building, University of Bradford.

For our fourth and final seminar we welcome Professor Tim O'Riordan whos seminar theme centres around regeneration through sustainability. Professor O'Riordan OBE is Emeritus Professor of Environmental Sciences at the University of East Anglia and his work centres specifically in Derry-Londonderry.
