Nursery staff at the University of Bradford are celebrating after being awarded two quality assurance standards.
The two awards, accredited by University College Worcester's Centre for Research in Early Childhood, were given for 'an effective early years programme' and for 'investors in children'.
Opened in 1992, the University's purpose-built nursery is situated alongside All Saints Hall of Residence on Laisteridge Lane, Bradford, and it caters for up to 70 children belonging to staff and students between the ages of six months and five-years-old.
In addition to the Head of Nursery and two Deputy Officers-in-Charge, the staff team comprises of 17 qualified Early Years Practitioners and three lunchtime supervisors.
Officer in Charge at the Nursery, Margaret Mitchell, said: "We're delighted to have been awarded two quality assurance certifications. We pride ourselves on our high standards and these awards are the result of sustained effort by all our staff."
Centre for Research in Early Childhood (CREC) The Centre for Research in Early Childhood is based at University College Worcester and St. Thomas Centre, Birmingham. The CREC is dedicated to raising the quality of children's early education and care.
It aims to work collaboratively to pursue research, evaluation, scholarship, professional development and research related consultancy within the field of early childhood in order to raise the quality, status and visibility of this crucial area of national policy and practice.
