Staff briefing says it in the subject

A recent change to the way the staff briefing is sent might have caught some staff off-guard. In the interests of clarity and skim reading, the top headline University news will be in the subject. You will know you’ve received a staff briefing, because it will be from: 'Staff Briefing'.

No more special staff briefiing

You might also have noticed that 'special staff briefings' are now all but non-existent, so please continue to send information in time for Monday - if the briefing is delayed or you have a concern please call.

Internal comms would like to thank everyone for their continual feedback, compliments and complaints - please keep them coming.

Contact: internalcomms@bradford.ac.uk or Stefan on ext: 6510

Donate food for hard-up students . . . Hub cupboard bare

The food cupboard in The Hub - used to aid students in their hour of need - is bare. And just this last term a large number of students found themselves in need of assistance.

What are you doing this weekend? Spend five or ten minutes and grab a few tinned goods, non-perishables and toiletries to donate for students who have hit difficulties. Drop them off at the Hub reception.

Genuine adversity for some students

International Students find that money hasn't reached them on time, or sometimes at all. UK students (mainly with children) have found the last few months difficult with large bills after the cold winter.

Students get into difficulties during the summer, some students who receive benefits, wait weeks without money. The credit crunch is making it difficult for some International students and the job situation is affecting students who usually work during summer to provide living costs. We are now in the position that we are unable to help them.

Our Hub food cupboard has made that vital difference to their experiences in Bradford, and we need your help and can mean the difference to students continuing their studies with us.
