    12 February 09

The University of Bradford, in the United Kingdom, will open a Middle East Regional Office in Dubai to support its current and future activities in the region on Monday, 23 February, 2009.

The University of Bradford , in the United Kingdom, will open a Middle East Regional Office in Dubai to support its current and future activities in the region on Monday, 23 February, 2009.

Chancellor Imran Khan will officially open the 1000sqft regional office located in Dubai Knowledge Village, a purpose-built complex of educational institutions.

The University has ambitious plans to expand delivery of its world-class executive MBA to a consortium of high profile businesses in Dubai. The University will significantly expand its recruitment activities across the Middle East and hopes to double the number of students from the region wishing to study at the University over the next 5 years.

The office secured its trade licence in September 2008 and is currently undergoing refurbishment ready for its opening later this month.

The office is managed by the Head of the Office, an International Manager and an Assistant Manager. Both the manager and assistant manager are based in Dubai, however the Head of the Office is based at the University and travels to the Middle East frequently, using Dubai as a focal point to coordinate business opportunities.

Director of the International Office , Dr Haydn Bartlett, said: "This is the University's first regional office overseas, and is a major investment for the University. It represents a great opportunity for the University to further enhance its brand across the Middle East in Executive Education and to expand its distance learning programmes.

"The Middle East Office will provide students and corporate clients with the support they need to find the right course or programme of study to meet their needs. The Office will also act as a focal point for student applications from across the region for study at the university campus in Bradford."
