Living at the Green

The Village Concept

Living in the Green is not the same as anywhere else. The site is totally new, environmentaly friendly and the thing I like the most is the view on the pond from my window. I cannot wait to have a barbecue in our garden when it gets warmer.

Joanna Licznerska, BA Psychology and Management

Social spaces and amenities

The apartment and townhouse blocks are set around a central water feature - a biodiversity pond which reuses rain water, provides a home for a number of ducks birds and plant species and acts as a passive coolant in summer.

There are lots of places to meet, socialise and relax within the attractive landscape gardens which help create an enjoyable place to live.

There are built-in barbeque sets, external seating and grassed areas.

The Townhouses have patio doors at the back that lead onto grassed areas, so students have their own garden areas in which to plant their own vegetables and herbs.

Security

"As an international student, The Green is the best that you can get in Bradford and elsewhere - the best ecological accommodation complex in the country with the best quality and comfort. It's about living in the campus and having everything at hand from the University itself with the locations where you attend your classes to shops, bars, green grass for a barbecue on a sunny day, all in the same place. Another thing that really pleased me is that I have never had concerns about the security, bills or any other services which are all included. The Green offered me the student life that I've always wanted and I am happy that I still have one more year to go and the adventure is not finished yet."

Dragos Ilias, Biomedical Sciences

Pastoral care and support with The Warden Team

The University's Accommodation Teamwork with a team of resident wardens who live in The Green.

There are two Senior Wardens and four Student Wardens. Their role is to help students settle into university life and provide advice and information.

Each evening/night and throughout the weekend there are Senior and Student Wardens on duty to assist with any problems or concerns students may have. Senior Wardens hold regular surgeries on Wednesday evenings.
