The University is introducing a new Dignity and Respect Policy which provides a strong and secure framework to determine how we commit as an institution to treat all of our staff, students and visitors with dignity and respect. This policy provides both a statement of how we should behave, together with a practical and clear indication of what people should do if they feel they have been treated badly.
The policy is available at http://www.brad.ac.uk/admin/equalopp/policies/ .
You can find out more about the policy at a briefing session. Full details will be available at http://www.brad.ac.uk/equality/ from Tuesday 2 March. We are delighted to report that in its first week The Braduate Fund telethon has raised over £20,000 from our graduate community. This money will benefit current and future students at the University of Bradford. Our students have been working each evening and during the weekend in two groups of 20 callers who have thoroughly enjoyed their conversations with graduates and vice versa.
We will provide further updates as The Braduate Fund telethon continues over the next three weeks.

All members of staff are invited to come along and find out more about the estate and ask questions at this event being hosted by Clive Wilson, Estates and Facilities Director and Mark Cleary, Vice-Chancellor.
The University's Estate Plan 2004 - 2014is under review to consider progress thus far, review the targets that were set and to seek your comments on moving forward. If you would like to learn more about this important process and how the estate might develop over the next five years please come along to this short presentation.
Recent consultation with staff and students by Estates has identified considerable change with regards to how learning and teachingis undertaken and in the demands for different types of social spaces. To begin the consultation process, a document has been created the Estates Strategic Report 2009-2014 (PDF file). The document reviews the past five years and, from information gathered so far sets out a series of recommendations and targets for consultation and moving forward. It also maps out elements of the strategy onto the City Campus Masterplan and the Emm Lane Development Plan.
Yoyo is a register of students able to take on fixed tasks for individuals and companies. The tasks can be anything - from painting a fence to creating a website; from gardening to creating photo archives; from de-cluttering your garage to language tutoring; the list is endless.
Imagine all those tasks you want doing but just don't have the time for yourself - a student can do them for you, for a fixed fee. They make money and get valuable experience, whilst you get an empty 'to-do' list.
For examples of tasks that can be offered, and for more information see http://www.careers.brad.ac.uk/yoyo/recruiter
Yoyo is an extension of the Careers Services JobShop. If you want any help, of want to talk over ideas for suitable tasks, please call Nicola Crowther ext. 4992.
