Printing and Photocopying Facilities
Print (from a desktop PC) or photocopy
Printing and photocopying are done on the same multifunction
devices (MFDs):
-
Credit your account via
UPay
, or via the pay station in either of the libraries (a change machine near
the MFDs in the libraries gives £1 coins in exchange for notes). In addition, card
payments of £5 or over can be made in person at the J. B. Priestley Library or
by phone (01274 233368).
-
Login to the machine with your student card and PIN to either photocopy or
select the job you want to print.
To send print jobs:
-
For A4 black and white printing - choose 'Library Printer' (or the one including 'Self_Service' in the name).
-
For colour and A3 printing - choose 'Library Printer Copier'.
Note:
Printing will default to duplex (double-sided) and photocopying will default to single-sided,
unless
otherwise specified.
Wireless printing (UPrint)
You can enable wireless printing from a laptop connected to
RoamNet
(instructions on
how to connect to RoamNet
are
available).
Install the Required Printer Drivers
-
Click on this
UPrint.exe
file and save it to your computer (you will need your University username and password).
-
Windows 7 users: right click on the saved
file and select 'Run as Administrator'.
Windows XP users: simply click on the saved file to run it.
-
Click on 'Install' to begin the installation. This will take several minutes to complete.
-
When the installation has completed, click on 'Finish'.
The following
new printers will be installed on your laptop:
-
Library Printer Copier (J.B. Priestley Library Ricoh MFDs);
-
Library Printer (J.B. Priestley Library self service printers);
-
Self-Service S0-38 (Student Central S0-38 printer).
Your laptop can now be used to send print jobs.
Printing from your wireless laptop is exactly the same as printing from a cluster PC. See our general
printing guides
