Alumni ambassador profile

Jon Shaw Jon Shaw: freelance IT Project & Programme Manager with experience in a wide range of vertical markets including Oil & Gas, Finance, Power, Water and Metals. Based in the UK, Jon is currently working on a number of IT and business related projects for a leading housing association in the South East.

Prior to this Jon was Head of IT for Trigold Crystal; provider of mortgage sourcing software to the mortgage intermediary market. He was responsible for both internal IT infrastructure and the development of software solutions and applications into the mortgage market.

Before Trigold and IFonline joined forces in 2002, Jon held various roles at IFonline. Jon joined IFonline in 2000 and held several senior development positions until being asked to take over responsibility for the combined IT teams of Trigold and IFonline.

Prior to this, Jon worked as Office Manager and Department Head for Scomagg Limited, an independent software and process control company with offices in Aberdeen, Motherwell, Bridgend and Rotherham. Jon was manager of the Rotherham office, responsible for a turnover of £4.5M with a staff of 45 software and process control engineers. During his 11 years with Scomagg, Jon progressed his career from software developer through project management and software architecture roles to head up the growing Rotherham office.

A veteran in the industry with over 25 years of experience in technology companies, Jon started his career as a software programmer for N.G. Bailey in 1984, having graduated from Sheffield Polytechnic with an HND in Computer Studies.

Jon graduated from Bradford University School of Management in 2010 with an MBA (distinction).
