This site has been set up by friends of the workers of Pittards leather mill in Leeds. Since the recent announcement that Pittards (Leeds) was to close, sharing a similar fate with much of the textiles industry in West Yorkshire, it was felt that the legacy of the company and its employees should not be forgotten. This website therefore hosts a variety of images dating back to the 1800s, as well as more recent photographs, some taken in 2006 immediately following the announcement that the mill was to close. The site also hosts information about the company and its history, as well as links to other sites of interest and some sites that might help workers who face redundancy.
