UCAN Volunteering Centre at the University of Bradford

Welcome

UCAN LOGO Funded by the Higher Education Active Community Fund (HEACF) scheme, UCAN is the University and (External) Students' Union initiative to develop links between University students and the wider community. Volunteers from any academic discipline are supported, with an emphasis on working in partnership with not-for-profit organisations and in disadvantaged areas. UCAN has a range of volunteering opportunities in the Bradford area for students to undertake, and encourages students to develop their own volunteering projects within UCAN.

This means that a whole load of really exciting and useful experiences can be realised all under one roof!

Example projects include: Switch off and recycling campaigns, making go-carts out of scrap, volunteering in schools to help improve their environment, setting up or joining a sport or society, growing veg on campus, helping out in hospitals and much, much more!

Chris spends and lot of his time volunteering and has many years of experience in the recruitment, training and management of volunteers.

If you would like advise on any aspect of your volunteering please feel free to get in contact using the details below and we will either get back to you with an answer or try to arrange a time and date to meet.

Alternatively you could try dropping into the UCAN office in the Students' Union, Student Centre Building, any time between the hours of 10am till 5pm, Monday to Friday, and we will try to help you there and then.
