'Interviews'
You can safely assume that, on the basis of your CV or application form, the employer considers that you have the potential to do the job for which you have applied and that they are considering you as a prospective employee. Make the most of this achievement by preparing thoroughly for the interview, as this is your opportunity to convince them that you are the person they are looking for. Careful preparation will give you confidence, control and the ability to deal effectively with any questions you may be asked.
It is worth noting that more candidates talk themselves out of a job rather than into one! They do this by not being able to substantiate claims they have made in the application process and by not preparing well.
Increasingly, employers may include tests / tasks and / or presentations to take place during the interview and you should be informed of these in advance; however this should not be confused with Assessment Centres, another recruitment selection process.
For further information on Assessment Centres, please refer to the “ Assessment Centres ” and “ Psychometric Tests ” sections.
