EDT's Hovercraft Project at British Science Festival
Hovercraft Project at the British Science Festival
The School of Engineering, Design & Technology's popular hovercraft project was part of the weekend's Science Festival activities in Centenary Square with the BBC's Bang Goes The Theory Roadshow.
The Hovercraft Project, which was Best Engineering Event Finalist, National Science & Engineering Week, 2009, usually runs as part of EDT's outreach programme of events in schools with the aim of inspiring the next generation of engineers and scientists.
Members of the public were invited to join a team of Engineering students to build a series of model hovercraft and race them across Bradford's Centenary Square.
A full size hovercraft which was built by Dr. Roger Clarke and a team of EDT students was also be on display in the square.
"This is a very hands-on project," said Mr. Bradley, from the School of Engineering, Design & Technology, "we aim to make the project as much fun as possible to give students an exciting time and experience of engineering."
