New Wilkinson Chemical Engineering Lab Open
Professor William Wilkinson revisits University to open New Chemical Engineering Laboratory in his name
As part of the re-launch of its chemical engineering courses, the University committed to invest in the development of a brand new laboratory so that students can learn in a high quality environment using state-of-the-art equipment to lead them into employment after graduation.
The new Wilkinson Chemical Engineering laboratory in the School of Engineering, Design & Technology has been named after Professor William Wilkinson who was Head of Chemical Engineering at Bradford from 1967-1979.
Professor Mark Cleary, gave a welcome address along with other visitors namely Professor Sir William Wakeham (FREng) President of the Institute of Chemical Engineers and former Vice-Chancellor of Southampton University.
"We are delighted to build this new state of the art chemical engineering laboratory and name it after Professor Wilkinson;" Said Professor Iqbal Mujtaba, Programme Director for Chemical Engineering at Bradford; "Professor Wilkinson is a well-known personality who has made significant contributions in chemical engineering globally and nationally especially in the area of nuclear fuel."
