Gemma John graduated in 2001 from the University of Bradford with a BEng in Medical Engineering . Gemma who is originally from Peterborough is now employed by De Puy in their Leeds office as a Bio Engineer for Hips. she is involved in product development engineering and designing new products and regularly works with surgeons to identify customer/patient requirements which involves generating design inputs for product specifications.
When asked why medical engineering? Gemma replied; “It was the first course of its kind in the UK, and everyone knows someone with a hip replacement…. I was inspired to become involved in medical engineering . ”
