100% Employment Record for Graduates

100% Employment Record for Graduates

According to official HESA figures, our employment statistics for Electrical & Electronic Eng. courses and our Mechanical engineering courses was 100%.

The overall figure for our school is 94% which is the highest in the North of England.  We are pleased that despite the downturn in industry our employability figures have remained at the top.
It is difficult to pinpoint the exact reasons for this but the school does have industry relevant courses, lots of industrial links, a Professional Advisory body (PAB), made up from managers to chief executives of SMES and local and international companies, which looks extensively at our course offerings to ensure that graduates are well placed for industry.

The PAB have been instrumental in ensuring that all our courses have professional accreditation or are expecting it. The one year industrial placement scheme also makes our graduates attractive to companies as in general companies prefer a graduate who has some experience in industry. Students that have been placed often go on to work in the same companies or are head hunted by others. Some are even employed part-time whilst finishing their final year as the company sees them as an investment.

The school has dedicated staff that work over the year to support our students getting placements , to develop their CV, help them with interview techniques, and finally also host career fairs . Our careers fair this year attracted many of the big companies associated with our school.

These companies have previous experience of our graduates and so do visit each year. Another aspect is that due to our strong industrial links , the school tries to offer final year projects that are related to the industries, sometimes even based in the local area.
