knowledge transfer
partnerships
I aim to help all sectors of the business community utilise the talents of the Informatucs team at the University of Bradford - Ali Rashid, Director of Innovation and Enterprise.
Partnerships
The University is seeking partners who would be prepared to collaborate with the School of Informatics, at no cost to themselves, to improve the learning experience for the students. Please take a few minutes to read this to see what this opportunity offers your company.
Industry and Community Partnerships are part of the University's 3rd Mission. The 3rd Mission is a government-sponsored initiative to promote innovation in business and communities through technology and knowledge transfer. It is available to businesses, other organisations and community projects. It takes many forms and/or activities such as students undertaking projects in collaboration with Industry and Community Partners.
The University is also prepared to help Industry and Community Partners to improve their own business and/or competitiveness but this incurs a cost.
The School of Informatics is comprised of the
Department of Computing
,
and the (External)
Department of Electronic Imaging & Media Communications
.
Benefits
The benefits that Industry and Community Partners could derive from the partnership are:
-
A placement student. Some of our students need to spend twelve to fifteen months in the work place prior to taking their final year - see
Placements
for more information.
-
Graduate Recruitment
. We can forward career opportunities to our final year students.
-
Small projects undertaken free of charge. A small task can be undertaken as a final year project for a student who wishes to undertake a project in collaboration with an outside organisation or, alternatively, as a group project for students who work as a team to undertake a project.
-
Help in solving problems. We would like to hear from you if your company has a problem that one of our many and diverse researchers may be able to help you with. There will be no charge, if there is a simple answer to your problem or we direct you to someone else who can provide an answer. There could be a charge for this service if your problem is going to involve a significant amount of staff time but you will be advised of this prior to proceeding.
If you are interested in becoming an Industry and Community Partner please contact the IIU using the information on our
