Confronting Inequality: Celebrating Diversity

Committees

The Equality and Diversity Committee is the main forum for discussion and agreement of University-wide policies and initiatives concerning equality. All decisions agreed here are then forwarded to the University's Senate and Council for approval. Membership includes student representatives, Chairs of staff networks, a community representative and Lay members of Council, among others.

The Equality and Diversity Executive Group has been set up following the recommendations of the School of Health Review in 2009 and meets four times per academic year.  The main responsibility of the group is to align equality and diversity initiatives within the University’s core business and to identify key priorities around equality and diversity.

The Impact Assessment Steering and Monitoring Group has been set up to support Impact Assessment in Schools and Directorate, to co-ordinate efforts and help share best practice. This Group reports progress made to the Equality and Diversity Committee.
