News and ViewsWelcome to the March 2007 edition of News & Views - the first edition to appear in this new visual style.
News & Views went through a comprehensive review last year which included an external readership survey. Following analysis of feedback, a number of changes have been made in response to readers’ views.
We have increased the space dedicated to stories on research, see pages 16 to 19. To increase the amount of ‘views’ the magazine carries, we have introduced regular profiles on individuals, with this first edition featuring the views of Nadira Mirza on the University’s educational connections with Pakistan, and an in-depth Q&A with outgoing Vice-Chancellor Professor Chris Taylor.
To clarify what News & Views is and what it serves to do, a mission statement has been drawn up.
We hope you enjoy this first edition of the new-look News & Views, and we look forward to receiving any comments you may have on it.
