Kevin is our new Chairperson and retains his role as Web Officer. He will share the role of Communications Officer/Pensions with Nancy Andrews. He (amongst others) provides up to date information and news for this website, and produces newsletters when appropriate. He is also responsible for keeping members informed of campaigns and, of course, pay awards! If you have any questions relating to Unison's campaigns or want information on branch activities, Kevin will be pleased to help. The Chair of the branch is the official spokesperson for the Branch and chairs all meetings; usually one of the lead negotiators with the University.
Co-ordinates the organisation of the Branch, including maintaining membership records and liaising with regional and national office; usually one of the lead negotiators with the University.
Maintains the Branch website and manages the email distribution lists; keeps members aware of information and news.
Responsible for managing branch finances, including keeping accounts and preparing the annual return.
Advises members on education, training and potential career development; represents the Branch on staff development and training issues.

Advises members on equality issues and the University’s Dignity and Respect policies; represents the Branch on appropriate committees.
Advises members on health and safety matters and undertakes appropriate safety audits; represents the Branch on the University’s Health and Safety committee.

Ensures that members seeking welfare assistance receive information and support. Fiona also has a particular interest in the Family friendly and Car Parking policies.
Julie has a particular interest in both the Dignity and Respect and Grievance policies.
Pat has a particular interest in HERA grading related activities.

Linda has a two days per week contract as a UNISON Officer and is based in the Union Office in the Chesham Building.

Susan is one of the ERA Accredited Officers. She can help you with any work-based issues, including supporting you at grievances and disciplinaries. If you have any issues you want to discuss or need advice on anything work-related, Susan will be pleased to help.
Susan is a retired officer, having left at the end of July 2011 and is based in the Chesham Building.
Linda and Susan are both fully accredited ERA Advisers (Employment Relations Act) and can give advice to members on any work related issues. They can also support members in meetings with management.
There are vacancies on the Executive Committee for a Membership Officer and a Young Members Officer. If you are interested in any of these posts, please contact Kevin or Sheila .
