Knowledge Transfer Partnerships - Two men looking at a laptop
Part subsidised by a Government grant, KTPs allow your company to draw on our expertise in supporting a key development project whilst helping able graduates to further their own managerial skills development. We expect a KTP to have a direct impact upon the bottom line.
1. Identify a development area that is strategically important to your company's future, but requires additional skills and knowledge. Areas on which previous clients have focused include:
2. Think about and discuss the outputs your organization requires from the KTP, and your deadlines. Together with a KTP consultant, we will evaluate whether the KTP route is suitable and we will help you to identify the supporting academic who can give you the best support.
3. Then we will help both your company and your chosen academic partner to draw up a project plan that will form the basis of an application for a KTP grant.
4. Once the grant has been awarded, we will help you to recruit someone to work in your company from a pool of exceptionally talented young graduates. The contract is flexible and can range from one to three years, to best suit your needs.
5. The project work will be designed to realise your commercial objectives and will be jointly supervised by in-company staff and your academic specialist.
The size of the KTP package will depend upon whether you choose a one, two or three-year KTP. A typical two-year KTP for an SME (organization employing less than 250 people) would total £80,000.
The organization engaged would contribute £18,400 a year and the government grant would be worth £48,000 over two years. This covers:
