BSc (Hons) in Integrated Management Practice

Course overview

As a highly motivated student with good A-level grades, you could be among the first in Britain to benefit from our pioneering "fast track" to a Master's degree with enhanced professional experience. If you already have, or this summer gain, 300 UCAS points at A-level, you can join our new BSc (Hons) in Integrated Management Practice starting in September 2010.

Bradford's Integrated Management Practice degree is a unique course, which builds on the solid foundations of our 4 year BSc (Hons) degrees and includes a year spent gaining paid professional experience. The Integrated Management Practice degree is different from other degrees that we offer. Not only will you graduate with an honours degree, which gives you experience of mentoring others and undertaking live project work, you will also be well on the way to achieving a MSc in Management - something we don't think you'll find anywhere else in the UK.

We believe that this feature of the BSc (Hons) in Integrated Management Practice, combined with professional experience that is suitably mentored and assessed, will give you an edge when you come to take your first step on the career ladder.

In the first year of your Integrated Management Practice degree, you will study a broad range of business related subjects. Modules include Business Economics, Business Law, Introduction to Accounting and Finance, Foundations of Marketing, Foundations of Production and Operations Management, Quantitative Methods in Information Management, Organisational Information Systems and Organisational Behaviour and the Sociology of Work. In addition there are two optional modules.

In the second year of your Integrated Management Practice degree, you will study compulsory modules in Managing Consultative Research and Peer Assisted Learning, plus a further ten modules from our extensive portfolio, enabling you to design a programme of study to suit your needs and interests.

In the third year of your Integrated Management Practice degree, you will undertake a work placement that will be assessed. You will complete a consultancy project or practical assignment as part of it, coached by one of our teaching staff and a mentor at work.

In the fourth year of your Integrated Management Practice degree, you will study Professional Coaching and Mentoring Skills, plus five optional BSc modules. You will also complete six Masters level modules, which will count towards an MSc.
