If you are a new student (account created after 21 July 2011), use your (External) Outlook Live email account. Your Windows Live ID is in the format username@student.bradford.ac.uk . Please make sure you complete the pre-enrolment process, as you will not get email unless you do so .
If you are an existing student (returning in September 2011), the way you access your University email is changing. As you re-enrol, you will be able to request a new Outlook Live email account. Once you've set up your new account you will receive a new email address and a Windows Live ID:

Any new emails sent to your previous University email account (Webmail) will begin to be forwarded to your new Outlook Live account from the next working day after you have requested it, and these will continue to be forwarded at least until the end of the academic year (2011-12). At no point will any emails be lost. You are advised to check both your previous University email account (Webmail) as well as your new Outlook Live account for any incoming messages during the period between requesting your Outlook Live account and email forwarding commencing.
There are currently no changes to how email works for staff, for whom the supported package is Outlook (on your office PC). Staff wanting to access email off campus via the web should use Webmail . (Get help with using Outlook and Webmail ).
