NewsThe University of Bradford has sent up an Appeal Pay Facility in the Hub Payzone to gather contributions for the Disaster Emergencies Committee (DEC) to provide aid on humanitarian grounds for the people affected by the floods in Pakistan.
The code is 0290/16401/000000/XA301.
Over 1,600 people are reported to have died with that number likely to rise as more information becomes available. About 14 million people are believed to have been affected by the floods which may worsen as further rain falls and water moves downstream. In the aftermath of the floods there is a serious risk to survivors from potentially deadly diseases which will spread as a result of contaminated surface and drinking water.
If you are a UK tax payer please remember to ask for a Gift Aid form so the DEC can also claim back the tax (currently 28p in the £).
The facility will be available during normal Hub Payzone opening times (currently 10.00am to 4.00pm), until Friday 27 August, at which point all funds raised will be transferred across to the DEC for immediate use.
