Emergent Computing.
The Emergent Computing research work within the school is handled through two groupings:

IQIS
The Intelligent and Quantum Information Systems Group majors on quantum information processing but also includes data
mining, database, bioinformatics and mathematics.

MOSAIC
The Modelling, Optimisation, Scheduling and Intelligent Control Group
which is concerned with optimal scheduling of human and machine activities, and with artificial intelligence in games.

Mathematics
The Mathematics Unit consists of both full-time members of staff and staff in the School with specialist mathematical expertise. Interests include
statistics, discrete maths, and modelling.
