Travelling to the University

We want to make your visit to the University of Bradford as sustainable as possible.

Our sustainable business travel framework (external link) means we encourage visitors to first question their need to physically travel to the university.

If travel is required we are very well connected to the public transport networks so hopefully you shouldn't need to bring a car.

Do you need to travel? - could you use technology instead?

You could try to avoid your journey by taking advantage of the many IT solutions in place to communicate remotely.

Services range from full video conferencing suites to simple PC-based video calls and audio conferencing.

Can you travel sustainably?

If you need to get to the university there are a number of ways to travel in a sustainable way:

If you can't get here by any of the above methods and need to travel by car - find out more

Public Transport

Bradford is well served by public transport links and we are a short walk (or free bus ride) from the train stations.

Use www.transportdirect.info (external link) to plan your journey to us using public transport. It is also calculates your carbon usage so you can compare the various public transport options.

Postcodes for our sites are:

  • BD7 1DP (City Campus)
  • BD9 4JL (School of Management)

Cycling

We have showers and secure cycle storage on all our sites for the use of cyclists.

Please go to the main reception and ask for access to these facilities on your arrival.

Walking

Walking is great for your health and fitness. It can reduce the risk of heart disease and stroke, improve your cholesterol levels and blood pressure and help you control your weight, and it can save you money.

By car

Bradford is connected to the national motorway network via the M62 and the M606.
