About Me

My name is Russell Delderfield. I'm male and have had an eating disorder for most of my life.

When I finally had to get help for my disorder I was astonished by how little support is aimed at men and is instead geared towards women. I was also surprised by the lack of awareness and understanding displayed about the fact that eating disorders affect both women and men. I understand why this might be the case but strongly felt that this needed to change.

When I had the chance to do more studying I wanted to make it about this lack of information about men who have problems with food and eating.

I work and study at the University of Bradford. I'm doing my PhD in the School of Social and International Studies.
