Create Online Assessments with Questionmark Perception

Question Types

Click here to see examples of some of the question types below

Captivate

Macromedia Captivate allows you to create a visual presentation, rather like a slideshow: The presentation can include 'pauses' between the individual 'screens' where, at these points, questions can be included. For example, a Captivate presentation about safety at work could show a series of screens showing a person operating an industrial machine, with pauses between the individual screens to allow the participant time to respond to questions.

Drag and Drop

Participants place several 'markers' on an image using the computer mouse to indicate their answers.

Essay

Designed for long, open-ended text questions that are answered with free text essays. These can be scored with Scoring Tool in Enterprise Manager | Results Manager or by other methods outside Perception.

Explanation

Strictly speaking, not a question type at all: Used to display large bodies of text in information screens or title pages.

Fill in the Blanks

The participant enters text in one or more text boxes.

Flash

A Macromedia Flash question enables you to use a Flash animation which presents a question to the participant and returns the answer to Perception.

Hotspot

Likert Scale

A Likert Scale question is a form of multiple choice question where participants select their answer according to whether they agree or disagree with a statement. Typically used in questionnaires.
