STEM at Bradford Building

STEM Elevation

STEM at Bradford will provide a creative and unique learning environment. Set within a highly sustainable building designed to meet BREEAM 'Outstanding'.

The new £1.5million Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) Building will provide an inspirational learning space with high quality laboratory facilities and creating exciting opportunities for local schools and colleges.

The design team have designed and utilised a high thermal performance shell and passive heat/cooling techniques. The 400m2 single storey predominantly timber clad building which commenced on site in September 2012, will be complete in February 2013. The BREEAM 'Outstanding' rating will further compliment the sustainability credentials of the University. BREEAM Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method) is a voluntary measurement rating of non-domestic building's sustainability. Currently there are 15 buildings in the world with the highest rating of 'Outstanding' with two of them already on City Campus (The Green and Sustainable Enterprise Centre). The STEM Building will make it a third and further validate the department's Sustainable Construction Policy.
