Award Outline

To reward and celebrate successful knowledge transfer between the University and the business world.  Based on a business collaboration by an individual/ team with a business on a defined piece(s) of work carried out in the last 18 months. The award will go to the individual/area carrying out a project resulting in a significant positive impact on the company's business performance and success.

Eligibility criteria

Applications are only accepted from those businesses involved in the collaborative partnership being highlighted. A business can include charities, not for profit, and public sector organisations.

Only individuals or KT areas in the University of Bradford who have been involved in a collaborative KT partnership since August 2009 can be nominated.

Rules and Conditions

  1. Individuals/KT areas may be nominated more than once in this category and can be nominated in more than one award category.
  2. Winning entries from previous years will not be considered.  Non-winning entries will be considered provided they fit within the stated timescale. 
  3. Applications are accepted by businesses, charities, not for profit organisations, or public sector organisations we have worked with on knowledge transfer projects since August 2009. University of Bradford spin-outs are not eligible to nominate.
  4. All entries must be submitted and authorised by a Director or other individual in the business with authority to accept these Rules and Conditions on behalf of the company, and to divulge the financial and other commercial information contained in the application.
  5. All entries must be received by 1700 hours on Friday 28 January 2011 through completion of the online application form provided. Late entries will not be accepted.
  6. Entrants who are short-listed must agree to take part in media publicity and to agree to allow a case study of their winning application to be prepared and used by the University in any future publicity.
  7. Shortlisted entrants will be expected to consider referencing the awards in their own publicity and promotional materials.
  8. Judging will take place during week commencing 14 March 2011. Shortlisted entrants will be announced no later than week commencing 21 March 2011.
  9. Winners will be announced at the Awards Ceremony to be held on Wednesday 13 April 2011.
  10. All applications are confidential and will be assessed for Intellectual Property (IP) potential. If IP potential exists, this will be followed up separately with the nominee.
  11. Entrants must declare any interest which could interfere with the decision making process.
  12. There can be no appeal against the Judges' decision and these decisions must be accepted as final in respect of all matters concerning this competition, including the interpretation of the rules and conditions.

The 5 shortlisted applicants will be notified no later than week commencing 21 March 2011 and winners will be announced at the awards celebration on Wednesday 13 April 2011.

Prizes

Prize fund value 1000 pounds.
