Award Outline
To reward and celebrate where areas of the
University are collaborating to develop research innovations with a positive
impact on the external environment that would not have been possible by working
independently.
Eligibility criteria
Applications are accepted from one of the
areas involved in the cross School innovation or a combined application can be
made. The innovation must have involved academics from at least 2 different
University of Bradford Schools.
Only interdisciplinary innovations taking
place since August 2009 can be entered. Applications from RKT Centres are
encouraged.
The innovation must have been transferred to
industry and applicants will need to demonstrate a positive impact on the
business(es) involved. The business(es) involved with the innovation must
support the application as feedback may be sought from them at short-listing
stage.
Rules and Conditions
- Only one application per innovation may be
nominated for this award. The same innovation can be nominated in more
than one award category.
- Winning entries from previous years will not be
considered. Non-winning entries will
be considered provided they fit within the stated timescale.
- Applications are accepted from one of the areas
involved in the cross School innovation or a combined application can be
made. The innovation must have involved academics from at least 2 different
University of Bradford Schools.
- All entries must be supported in writing (letter
or e-mail received by 1700 hours on Friday 28 January 2011) by a Director
or other individual in the business with authority to accept these Rules
and Conditions on behalf of the company as we may need to divulge
commercial information contained in the application.
- All entries must be received by 1700 hours on Friday
28 January 2011 through completion of the online application form
provided. Late entries will not be accepted.
- Entrants who are short-listed must agree to take
part in media publicity and to agree to allow a case study of their
winning application to be prepared and used by the University in any
future publicity.
- Shortlisted entrants will be expected to consider
referencing the awards in their own publicity and promotional materials.
- Judging will take place during week commencing 7
March 2011 and shortlisted entrants will be notified no later than week
commencing 21 March 2011.
- Winners will be announced at the Awards Ceremony
to be held on Wednesday 13 April 2011.
- All applications are confidential and will be
assessed for Intellectual Property (IP) potential. If IP potential exists,
this will be followed up separately with the nominee.
- Entrants must declare any interest which could
interfere with the decision making process.
- There can be no appeal against the Judges
decision and these decisions must be accepted as final in respect of all
matters concerning this competition, including the interpretation of the rules
and conditions.

5 shortlisted applicants will be notified no
later than week commencing 21 March 2011 and winners will be announced at the
awards celebration on Wednesday 13 April 2011.
Prizes
Prize fund value 500 pounds.
