"Thank you so much to the people who donate to the Braduate Fund. Your donations today means that students in a desperate situation can 'live' and continue their studies in order to contribute to a better brighter society tomorrow. Thank you." Anonymous Mature Student, Hardship Recipient
At the University of Bradford we are proud of our commitment to education across geographical, social and cultural boundaries and to the celebration of the diversity of the people who are educated here.
We recruit the highest proportion of students from comparatively poor backgrounds and black minority ethnic origins of any UK university, and more than 100 nationalities are represented amongst our 12,000 students.
Our spirit is truly inclusive and internationalist. Our emphasis is, and has always been, not only on the fundamental values of a university education and equipping our students for the world of work, reflected in our motto Making Knowledge Work, but also on creating a powerful and transformative environment which demonstrates that it is possible to make a difference in the world.
We work hard to help address some of society's biggest challenges. Our Institute of Cancer Therapeutics is discovering and developing new treatments for cancer, and the Bradford Dementia Group has created specialist tools and techniques to improve the care of people suffering from dementia.
We were the first university to offer a degree in Peace Studies and are home to one of Europe's top 25, full-service business schools, as ranked by The Financial Times. We are proud that our alumni, staff and students are making real and tangible improvements to the world, both now and for the future.
During the last Research Assessment Exercise, two-thirds of Bradford's academics were entered, of which 80% were deemed to be producing research of "international" and "world-leading" quality.
Your generosity could be life-changing; funding scholarships, hardship support, learning, teaching and research facilities and ensuring that we continue to attract the very brightest students and essential research funding in today's highly competitive environment.
Your contributions to The Braduate Fund will directly enhance the Bradford university experience for thousands of students and so shape the minds of the future.
If you have just a couple of minutes to watch the film at the top of this page, you can hear a message from the Vice-Chancellor, about how important your support is to the University.
The Braduate Fund is a new initiative, through which you can support three significant areas that will make a real difference to today's Bradford students. Find out about the projects we have already supported and read ways you can direct your gift below:
Your gift will be allocated by The Braduate Fund Committee to key projects which benefit students. Donations here will allow you to fund areas of Bradford which are in most pressing need.
In 2008-09, the University invested £200,000 in a range of new scholarships for students, but we need your help to increase this still further, to ensure that a Bradford education is open to anyone with talent, regardless of financial situation or background.
Our Hardship Fund provides emergency financial support for our students to continue with their studies if they are suffering hardship for reasons beyond their control.
We have made significant investment in student facilities and support in recent years, including our Institute of Cancer Therapeutics; a new building on the School of Management Campus; new laboratories and computing facilities; and our new fitness and lifestyle facility, Unique. The University was awarded a prestigious Green Gown award in 2009 for its exceptional environmental and sustainability initiatives.
With your help, we enable our students to broaden their horizons through sports, arts and volunteering opportunities, by providing new research, study and social facilities and equipment for student societies.

"You can be confident of your university developing in the future with the same dynamism as has been shown in the past... Educating men and women who receive education and training relevant to the needs of our changing society."
Harold Wilson, First Chancellor of the University of Bradford
