Monthly Update - February 2011

The construction project is now into its 42nd week and the building is clearly taking shape. The external fabric is nearly complete, with the remaining windows in the extension being installed early March. The roofing works are also due to complete early March, meaning that the building will soon be water tight.

The brise soleil which will provide valuable solar shading to the south elevation, has been installed and is a striking architectural feature. The cladding panels for the new build section have been delivered and will soon be installed. The ground floor curtain wall glazing has been installed and the Level 01 entrance concrete walls have been completed marking the end of the concrete works.

The construction of the Level 4 extension is significantly taking shape, with roofing works and external walls nearly completed, the internal partitions have also commenced.

Internally, the fit out works are well underway with second fix plumbing and electrical works being undertaken. The door frames and glazed partitions are being installed and the lighting and ceilings to Level 3 have commenced.

The landscaping works around the main entrance has commenced, with access paths and stairs being set out. The building will change dramatically over the next 8-12 weeks, and any opportunity staff and students get to visit the main campus should hopefully increase the buzz around the new building ahead of the School's move in July.
