Bradford Dementia Group, national and international, leaders in dementia care are facilitating a unique and innovative leadership course for experienced practitioners, current and aspiring leaders, and managers working in dementia care and relative fields.
The course is designed to equip participants with the skills, knowledge, strategies and confidence necessary to drive forward change within teams and organisations. This practice based course is consistent with contemporary policy and motivated by the needs and experiences of people with dementia and will appeal to organisations wishing to deliver improvements in the quality of person centred care.
The course programme presents a creative approach for the development of individual, team and organisational leadership skills and strategies. It offers a wealth of opportunity for professional reflection, critical thinking and peer evaluation. Participants will be provided with a workbook that includes key material, and a reflective diary to evidence the transfer of leadership knowledge and skills in practice.
Participants will be supported to develop a comprehensive action plan to deliver improvements in the quality of person centred care within their workplace. Participants will be expected to formally present their plan for peer critique on the recall day.
Organisations will be expected to identify a mentor for the participant prior to the course commencing.
This leadership course is delivered at Bradford but can also be delivered within organisations.
