DCM Update Day

Dementia Care Mapping Update Day (London)

The Dementia Care Mapping Update day is a one-day short course study day, available for participants who have successfully completed a Learning to Use Dementia Care Mapping course (8th Edition).

It has been specifically designed for those mappers who have had limited opportunity to practise DCM on a regular basis, and require further support to update and consolidate their knowledge, confidence and competence in the use of the DCM tool.

Please note that this course is not suitable for those mappers wishing to update from DCM7 to DCM8.  Please e-mail dcm@bradford.ac.uk for more details about this.

Course Objectives

  • To update qualified Dementia Care Mappers on the DCM tool
  • Revisit the philosophy and process of Dementia Care Mapping
  • Refresh and refine skills around the four DCM coding frames
  • To provide an update of recent developments with DCM
  • To identify ways of embedding DCM into practice
