Research in Nursing

The Division of Nursing is undertaking research in the following broad thematic areas:

  • Service delivery - the evaluation of nursing interventions and roles.
  • Nursing expertise - working with clinicians to develop and evaluate practice.
  • Psychosocial aspects of health, illness and recovery.

These theme areas support projects which are integrated with the School's RAE areas of research:

  • A. Dementia.
  • B. Ethnicity, inclusion and diversity.
  • C. Health care quality.
  • D. Education.

These includes specific projects in such diverse areas as mental health, drug dependency, HIV/AIDS, cancer and palliative care, body image and disfigurement, dermatology, patient safety, ethnic minorities and cultural diversity, educational provision. The Division is committed to working alongside clinical colleagues and with service users.
